Earl met his wife Eugenia in Herron's Dry
Goods store where she worked. Earl was working on a construction crew that
was building the new Post Office. One of his gloves had gotten a hole in
it and he wandered into Herron's looking for needle and thread to patch
it. Faye, with her usual straightforwardness and no-nonsense approach,
told him, "You need a wife to do that for you." Earl, never one to back
down, said, "How about you? You'll do." They were married in 1927. |
